Beck
Isle Museum of Rural Life
No visit to Pickering is complete without visiting Beck Isle Museum.
It is housed in a Regency mansion and holds interest for all the
family. There are 27 rooms packed with collections mainly from the
Victorian era. Visit typical rooms, shops and workshops. There is a
large collection of farming equipment in a central yard.

Byland
Abbey
A hauntingly lovely ruin once one of the most powerful abbeys in the
north, set in the
peaceful meadows of the Hambleton Hills. See the largest collection of
medieval floor tiles in their original setting in Europe.
Kirkham Priory
Enjoy a unique atmosphere and a beautiful location by the River
Derwent. With a new museum
display and shop opening in 2003.

The Lodge makes an ideal base to visit North Yorkshire Moors and

York Minster
We welcome everyone to this holy site where prayers have been offered
to God for more than 1,000 years. The Minster is a glorious medieval
architectural achievement with one of the finest collections of
stained glass in existence.

Morris Minors Owners Club
Each year the Yorvik Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club hold it's
Charity Fete in May.
Proceeds are divided between our chosen Charity (2003 MacMillan
Nurses) and Christian Aid.

There is a quiet country lane,
past the house running down to farm land a lovely walk after a days
sight seeing in York.
